Secret death messages is not about suicide notes as people first thought it was.

It is simply about leaving notes for people, so that one day they can find them. Its based off a text message from a close friend and Secret Death Message ally, Leon Bellamy.

Leon sent me this one night when I called him pretty lost and alone. I lost a job, I broke up with a boyfriend, I felt like I was going nowhere. I rang him crying and sent him a letter apologising for being such a mess on the phone the next morning… this is what I got…

“Don’t apologise for calling me when you’re upset. Just do it. I’ll be there for you until I’m dead. And then I’ll leave you secret messages to find for the years longer it’ll take you to die too”

You see, Leon and I were meant to be married. We were meant to have a fairytale, instead we found ourselves lost… now we are apart. Were not getting married, were not even together anymore. I couldnt keep that promise to Leon. But I can keep this promise. Because I already have left him messages… messages that will outlive me and one day hopefully make their way into his hands… or someone elses. I didn’t marry you Leon, but I do leave you secret messages all the time, just incase you outlive me, so that I’ll be there for you even if I died.

And So I want you all to do this for me. Create something.

Create a secret message. A cryptic message that only one special person in the world would possibly understand. Make something… anything. Then I need you to photograph it and send it to gee@missgee.net with the title “seceret death message” – with the idea that one day the person who was intended to find it… will. No suicides, nothing. Just a note left, with the idea that one day (maybe even after you are dead… or not)

Use your i-phone. Use your digital camera. If you don’t have a way to photograph it find someone. If you can’t find anyone, message me and I will find someone to photograph it for you.

I want to make a book. A special book filled with messages to special people… you can remain annonymous if you wish, or you may add your name to it so that person can find it. Because I think its beautiful… the idea of being there for someone forever… and leaving messages just incase you die before they do.
